My message to those looking for your birthfamilies: Sometimes, finding your families can mean horrible pain years after the original wound has partially healed. Opening wounds of the past, compounded with new wounds can last for years. This was a very hard, hard chat to have. For those searching be aware of what the ramifications may be.

  This is a chat that I had, just this evening with my birthmother. Both names of my birthmother and both sides of my family have been changed to protect their anonymity.  None of this online chat has been altered in any way and I warn the reader of some strong language.

"Your Grandfather killed hisself, I don't know if you know this or what you have been told, but your momma run off with a nigger, that's why he killed hisself, that's what I have been told." A descendant of my family told me in his home.
